The mission of The Association for Women in Communications is to unite women and men to support the advancement of women in all communications fields. For our March 10th Women’s History Month luncheon, our New Mexico Chapter welcomes two special gentlemen to our celebration: 1) Our guest speaker, Dr. Craig L. Newbill, executive director of the New Mexico Humanities Council, and 2) Our luncheon sponsor, Scott Chazdon, owner of Maintenance & More Automotive Specialists.

Program: Women’s roles and identities have undergone substantial changes during the various phases of New Mexico history -- from the Spanish conquest and the Mexican Empire to American control and (finally) statehood. However, the direction and results of the changes may well surprise you.Dr. Newbill’s presentation will be interwoven with brief readings - by AWC members - from oral histories of the times.
